Privacy at HGC

Heathcote Golf Club recognises that privacy is important to you and appreciates that you are concerned about your privacy and about the confidentiality and security of information we may collect about you. This Privacy Policy explains how we manage any personal information that we collect.

Information we collect about you

The type of personal information we collect about you will depend on the services you use or subscribe to. This may include your name, postal address. date of birth, telephone number and email address; payment data including transaction details; prior purchases and interactions; goods and services purchased; and other information you choose to supply yourself. We may also collect information about family members for membership and competition purposes, including names and ages of children.

If you provide any personal information about other people to us or our Service Providers, you represent that you have the authority to do so and permit us to use the data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

MiClub

HGC discloses or obtains your personal contact data for competition, tournament and handicapping purposes. We use a secure server provided by MiClub Pty Ltd for this purpose. MiClub also provides your data to Golf Australia’s GolfLink national handicapping system. The privacy policies of these providers applies in this case.

Cookies

We may collect cookie information when you visit our website. Cookies information is used in aggregated form, we do not use it to identify you as an individual. If you do not wish any information to be collected through the use of cookies you can change the functions in most web browsers to deny the cookie feature. You can also delete cookies from your hard drive at any time.

How we use your information and who we may disclose it to

We only use personal information to provide the services you request, such as memberships, green fee passes, administration of competitions, and payments. We do not sell, rent, loan, trade or lease the information stored in our databases to any unrelated third parties. We use the information you provide to us to help you more easily access the services we provide.

We may also send you marketing material such as newsletters, information on forthcoming events, and offers and services. This will be limited to material provided by our golf club. You may choose to ‘unsubscribe’ from our mailing list or contact us using the details below, and no further material or communications will be sent to you.

Retention

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined within this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. User-generated content

If you post reviews or comments about us on our websites or Club social media pages such as Facebook you grant us the right to use or reproduce such reviews and comments. You also grant the Club the right to use your name with any review or comment that you submit.

Our Club’s websites may provide links to websites outside of the Club’s services. These linked sites are not under our control, and we are not responsible for the conduct of companies linked to our website. Before disclosing your personal information on any other website, we advise you to examine the privacy policy and terms and conditions of that website.

Any personal information that we collect about members and customers, including email addresses, will be kept in the Club’s database. The database will be accessible only by those authorised to perform normal daily tasks such as updating addresses, managing bookings and renewing membership. The Club will take all reasonable precautions to protect the personal information it holds from any misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

The internet is not a secure environment. If you use the internet to send us any personal information, the Club will not be liable for events arising from unauthorised access to your information. If the Club does not allow you to access or correct your personal information we will provide you with the reasons for our decision.

If you think that any of your personal information held by us in inaccurate, please send us an email or letter in accordance with the ‘Contact Us’ section below and we will take reasonable steps to ensure that it is corrected.
